First Home Buyers Grant Queensland

In addition to the First Home Buyers Grant, first home buyers in Queensland do not have to pay stamp duty on a home purchase where the property is valued up to $500,000. This could mean a saving of up to $8,750 on a home valued at $500,000. This stamp duty concession applies only to contracts entered into on or after 1 September 2008.

Mortgage Stamp Duty Abolished in Queensland

On 1 July 2008, mortgage stamp duty was abolished in Queensland, the move was meant to help first home buyers purchase their first home sooner.
